Inspired by many of the magnificent marvels of engineering, from Festo, ABB (Yumi), DFKI (AILA), DLR (Justin), TTI (ICube), Fraunhofer (Care-O-bot), and many others, comes my final project, Fred-E. This robot is a working consolidation of all that I have learned in the world of autonomy and a platform to further expand the depth and breadth of my knowledge and to inspire others like I have been inspired before.
Fred-E is a personal effort and currently is the subject of my independent study in visual servoing at UMD. I am currently using it to implement hand-in-eye closed loop pick and place using an arm that I designed and an intel ReaLSense depth camera. All the development is happening in linux and is being facilitated by ROS.
